How do Germs Spread?

Every year, we are faced with the same question during seasonal epidemics such as influenza or gastrointestinal outbreaks: are air purifiers effective against viruses and other germs? This year, the frequency of that question has heavily increased due to the coronavirus epidemic and the great anxiety it generates. The answer is our air purifiers are capable of destroying 99.9% of airborne viruses and bacteria. However it is useful to know how germs spread.

BESA (Building Engineering Services Association) Recommendations

We are all keen to get back to work in the safest way possible, and there has been concerns over the safety of using air conditioning systems, when used in multi occupancy areas. BESA (Building Engineering Services Association) amongst other things is recommending that air conditioning fan coil units, including DX fan coils connected as a single split or part of a multi-split or VRF system, when serving a multiple occupancy area should be switched off if possible.
